                      Chairman’s Remarks

In 2022, CARILEC harnessed its resources to improve its member services, events, and further strengthen
its partnerships, to increase members and stakeholders value. The initiatives which accompanied
these efforts proved to be significantly valuable for our members, while also enabling the Association
to expand the scope of its offerings. CARILEC’s core values include collaboration, innovation and
agility, high ethical and professional standards, and social and environmental responsibility. With
every service, initiative, event, or partnership, it is our goal to embody those values to the best of our
ability, as we aim to better serve our members, and 2022 was no exception.
At the commencement of the year, CARILEC began preparations to reintroduce its signature face-
to-face events, which included the Chief Executive Officers’ (CEOs’) and Leadership Conference.
This event generated an impressive seven sponsors, of which six are members, who collaborated
with CARILEC to provide utmost event value to an impressive total attendee count of 105. These
collaborations are quite important to CARILEC, as we seek to enhance event quality and value, while
simultaneously aligning with organizations which share our vision of providing energy solutions to
                      the Caribbean.
Another well-executed and well-received event was the CAREC Conference and Exhibition (CAREC2022).
Over 230 industry professionals gathered at the Hyatt Regency Miami, from September 25th to 29th,
representing regional governments, electric utilities, regulatory bodies, power producers, and suppliers.
