PowerGen sponsors tuition for forty-two (42) students pursuing vocational courses at YTEPP Limited

The Power Generation Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (The Power Generation Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited) has sponsored the tuition of forty-two (42) young persons pursuing technical and vocational courses at The Youth Training and Employment Partnership Programme (YTEPP) Limited.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in December,2020 and a ceremony for the presentation of the PowerGen Sponsorship Package was held on Tuesday 28th June, 2021 at YTEPP’s Head Office and Main Campus in Chaguanas.
In attendance at the ceremony were Chairman of the Board of PowerGen – Mr. Romney Thomas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of YTEPP Ltd – Ms. Thora Best, PowerGen’s General Manager, Mr. Surindranath Ramsingh and YTEPP Ltd.’s Chief Executive Officer – Mr. Nigel Parris.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony PowerGen’s General Manager, Mr. Surindranath Ramsingh remarked that, “Corporate citizenship remains a fundamental principle of our business operations for us at PowerGen. This partnership with YTEPP Ltd. was identified as part of our “We Care for Our Country” Campaign which targets entrepreneurship, re-training and retooling as a means of equipping the unemployed and underemployed. It is hoped that our sponsorship will allow participants to use the funds which they would have spent on their tuition as capital to start their businesses or to purchase equipment to give them a start.”
PowerGen commends the Management and staff of YTEPP Ltd. for the work they do to provide our nation’s youth with the knowledge and skills that will drive the future of our economy.
