July 2018 Training Schedule

 

Certified PV Installers Training

Date:  July 9th – July 13th, 2018

Venue: Saint Lucia

This Solar Installation training will enable potential employees to gain solar installation skills that can immediately be applied in the field. The topics covered include Solar PV Markets, PV Safety, Solar Energy Fundamentals, PV System Design, Install System Components, Electrical Design, Mechanical Design, Verify System Operation and Performance Analysis as part of the NABCEP certification process. Students will obtain a practical understanding of renewable energy technologies and their long-term sustainability and will in turn able to safely and efficiently, install, operate, maintain and troubleshoot RE systems in their respective communities. The course focuses on the key competencies addressed in the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Associate level exam.

 

Diesel Mechanics 2 & 3

Date:  July 9 – 13th and July 16 – 20th 2018.

Venue: Antigua

The Diesel Mechanics training course comprises of three (3) levels designed to study the basic knowledge and skills for handling test equipment through to a thorough understanding of Diesel Engine Management Systems. The Diesel Mechanics Level 2&3 training will be hosted by Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA), July 9 – 13 and July 16 – 20 respectively. Some of the topics covered include Safety, Introduction to Diesel Mechanics and Engine details, Greener Diesel Designs and Diesel Engine Management Systems.

 

Cable Fault Location Best Practices Workshop

Date:  July 26th – 27th 2018.

Venue: Trinidad

Engineering Conference & Exhibition Post Workshops will be held in Trinidad on Cable Fault Locating. This course is a continuation of the training previously held in 2017 in Jamaica. Topics to be covered include Cable Fault types, definition and concepts, cable Fault techniques, Cable Fault pin point practices, Safe Cable identification and on Day 2 Field Testing.

 

Battery Storage for Peak Demand and Frequency Regulation

Date:  July 26th – 27th 2018.

Venue: Trinidad

Engineering Conference & Exhibition Post Workshops will be held in Trinidad on Battery Storage for Peak Demand and for Frequency Regulation. This training will focus on energy storage application for Peak Demand and Frequency Regulation with some additional benefits associated with spinning reserve. Topics to be covered include Power Generation and Architecture, energy Storage Selection process, Frequency Regulation, Renewable energy Intermittency and Frequency.
