Founded in 1989 with only nine (9) members, CARILEC is an association of electric energy solutions providers and other stakeholders operating in the electricity industry in the Caribbean region, Central and South Americas and Globally.

CARILEC members are entitled to the broad following benefits:

Regardless of the global economic and financial market situation, CARILEC remains dedicated to its stakeholders and members, and continues to take the lead in advocating for eloquent modification in the electric utility industry in the Caribbean, South & Central Americas.

The CARILEC Secretariat has established a new Strategic Plan that which outlines the course to understanding the essential deviations and address some serious industry issues. It will efficiently engage stakeholders and members to increase the region’s capacity building program and knowledge sharing network, and follow the sustainable development of the Caribbean, South & Central American electric utility industry in general.

Currently with thirty-three (33) utility members, sixty-one (61) associate members, seven (7) Independent Power Producers (IPP’s) and nine (9) affiliate members; CARILEC supports its members in their quest to provide energy consumers with a source of affordable sustainable energy, stable electricity prices and improved energy security. Therefore, CARILEC aims to be positioned as the leading partner and hub for energy solutions in the Caribbean.
