Hurricane Paulette is heading north-westward toward Bermuda. Strong winds, storm surge and heavy rain is expected in Bermuda, by this evening.

SITUATION:
According to the National Hurricane Centre (NHC), Miami, Florida at 11:00 a.m. AST, the centre of Hurricane Paulette was located near latitude 29.9 North, longitude 61.9 West. Paulette is moving toward the northwest near 13 mph (20 km/h), and this general motion is expected through tonight. Paulette is expected to turn toward the north with a decrease in forward speed anticipated on Monday, followed by a north-eastward motion on Monday night and Tuesday. On the forecast track, the centre of Paulette will move near or over Bermuda on Monday morning.
Maximum sustained winds are near 80 mph (130 km/h) with higher gusts. Strengthening is anticipated and Paulette is expected to be a dangerous hurricane when it approaches Bermuda late tonight and early Monday. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles (95 km) from the centre and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 195 miles (315 km). The estimated minimum central pressure is 976 mb (28.82 inches).
