CARILEC news page · Member news · Features · Home

As mentioned earlier this year, CARILEC, in collaboration with the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Response Agency (CDERA), will host a one day meeting for the benefit of reviewing the current CARILEC Hurricane Action Plan (CHAP), and further to hear from CDERA on their Comprehensive Disaster Management Plan.

The meeting is scheduled for April 11th 2003 in St. Lucia. There will be no registration or attendance fees for this meeting.

We are inviting full participation from all utilities as input for the revision of the CHAP- a fund set up for the providing restoration assistance to hurricane stricken utilities, is necessary to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the plan. It is also CARILEC's intention to broaden the focus of the plan from just hurricanes to include other disasters.

Attached is a draft agenda for the meeting.

Please forward names for attendance, directly to my email address at msc@carilec.org
