CARILEC's Chairman Lynn Young Welcome Remarks at the Renewable Energy Conference
Fellow Directors and Officers, Associate Members, Valued Sponsors and Representatives from the OAS, Honored guests, Ladies and Gentlemen: It is my pleasure to welcome you to this our First Renewable Energy Conference. Four months have already passed since my good friend Frank Crothers handed over the chairmanship of CARILEC to me. But I can’t help feeling that he should be the one giving this welcome address, for this conference has been a brain child of Frank. So Frank deserves the credit for a great idea, and I am certainly glad to have him continuing on as a director and to be able to tap into his advice from time to time.

OECS Director General delivers address at Renewable Energy Conference
Allow me at the outset also, to congratulate the organisers of this conference for placing renewable energy back on the agenda.  When our association of electric utilities decides that renewable energy is an issue to be addressed in a serious setting by such an eminent group of specialists as the programme of the conference informs, then we need to sit up and treat the matter with the gravity that it deserves.

CARILEC LAUNCHES EMAIL-BASED COLLABORATION TOOL FOR MEMBERS
CARILEC announces the launch of the CARILEC Email Broadcast Service, its newest online collaboration tool for members. The service will allow members to post questions about technical issues and problems for other members to respond to, primarily using their regular email.

INTERNET REGISTRATIONS FOR CONFERENCES SLOW IN 2000
year 61% of all registrations for CARILEC conferences were made online or via e-mail, down 1% from the 62% figure recorded in 1999. This slowdown reflects lower rates of online registration for the CEOs symposium and the supply chain management (purchasing) conference
